Holes on Heels will be a featured event at the 2025 World Lgbtq+ fest Capital Cup Golf Championship, a tournament hosted by Lambda Links! Lambda Links serves the DC region’s LGBTQ+ group and its allies, organizing both playfulness and competitive golf events for all skill levels. Starting in 1999, Lambda Links work to provide a warm social gathering aim for gay and lesbian persons who enjoy golf and one where all abilities are welcome! The 2025 Planet Pride Open welcomes all golfers and their allies, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, or skill level. With partners such as Capital Celebration Alliance, East Potomac Golf Links, National Links Trust, and Team DC, Earth Pride Golf is committed to foster a inclusive environment for golfers and allies.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported the 2023 3rd Annual Holes on Heels Golf Tournament. It was a giant success, beautiful diurnal and lots of fun! Together, we raised over $10,000 for The Trevor Project bringing the Holes on Heels total raised to over $30,000 from the past three years.

Excellence in Golf Awards Reception
Get ready to swing into history while honoring excellence in golf! The highly anticipated SFPride Golf Tournament is support, and it's set to take place at the world-renowned TPC Harding Park, San Francisco's historic golf gem, on Saturday, September 21, preceded by an award reception on Friday, September 20, at the Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill, San Francisco.
Presented by SFPride, this prestigious tournament is the first-ever LGBTQ+ sporting event to be officially endorsed by the PGA of America. Since its inception in 2019, the SFPride Golf Tournament has become a potent symbol of increased LGBTQ+representation in the realm of professional athletics.
Each year, the SF Pride Golf Tournament recognizes Excellence In Golf, and this year, the prestigious award will be presented to golf media personality and former professional golfer Tisha Alyn at the Fairmont Hotel’s Crown Room at 7 p.m. onSeptember 20.

Golfing with Pride: Celebrating the LGBTQ+ Golf Community in San Francisco
In 2019, PGA Professional Greg Fitzgerald, alongside Tom Smith, General Manager and PGA Professional at TPC Harding Park, embarked on a mission: to create the first-ever Gay golf tournament. Fast forward to today, their vision has evolved into a powerful platform promoting Diverse inclusion in golf, while providing an authentic encounter alongside PGA Professionals.
Partnering since its inception, the Northern California PGA Section and The First Tee of San Francisco have continued to support this transformative event. In 2022, Topgolf proudly joined in as the Presenting Sponsor.
Len Dumas, Executive Director of the Northern California PGA Section, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The Northern California PGA Section is proud to lend its support to PGA Member Greg Fitzgerald in his effort to promote inclusion in the game of golf and bring the San Francisco-area LGBTQ+ community together for a fun-filled day to benefit a great cause."

For much of golf’s extended history, the sport has been seen as a conservative and traditional game. The industry has struggled with diversity and inclusivity, both in terms of race, gender, and sexual orientation.
For instance, country clubs often have strict membership criteria. In fact, the number one ranked golf course in the Together States, Pine Valley, didn’t agree to allow female members until May 2021. Absurd, right?
As a finding, even today, the sport is predominantly white male-dominated and has had limited representation from minority groups, such as those from the LGBTQ+ community. Favor many other sports, golf has had its divide of discrimination and barriers for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Still, there are ongoing efforts within the sport to promote inclusivity, diversity, and gradual values. The golfing society has been working to break down barriers, raise accessibility, and create more welcoming environments for people from all backgrounds and identities.
