Gay Comics
Aside from the odd dud pieces (there have to be a limited in every anthology, right?) my only complaint -- but it's a large one -- is that the title "Gay Comics" is, well, accurate. Out of the 49 pieces, panels, and excerpts crammed into the book, only eight are by and about lesbians (and one about lesbians but written by a heterosexual woman), with no bi characte
Supporting Queer Comics & Creators
In the early days of Comic Book Herald, I’d occasionally get promotional Kickstarter emails teasing a “queer sci-fi saga” (or some such), and I’ll fully admit, I did not understand what sexuality had to do with the promotion. What did the “queerness” of this labor have to do with selling me on the story and artistic vision of the comic book?
I’m not a part of the community, and there’s a lot I still don’t understand, but I see now that there’s inherent value in marginalized perspectives in story, and there’s worth in supporting the voices that aim to tell them. So many of my favorite comic books are either directly or indirectly about queer people, relationships, and community, and vast amounts of my favorite comic book creators identify as gay, lesbian, trans, bi or other identifiers in the LGBTQIA+ range. The simple reality is that the more queer stories and creators at the forefront of comics, the better variety of recent, exciting works we procure to enjoy.

Gay Comics, Gender non-conforming Superheroes, Villains & More
The LGBTQ community has for many years been on the outs of the comic book society, as most superheroes play it direct and 'gay comics' were always a rarity. But many LGBTQ people are huge comic publication fans, and that is now reflected more than ever in the comic book and graphic novel industry's output. Even more thrilling, today the nature of comic books is spilling over into Hollywood. Superhero and comic publication films are all the rage, and it's only a matter of second before we notice a plethora of LGBTQ superheroes and villains on the big screen. Here's where you can take a watch at everything lgbtq+ that’s happening in the world of comic books and graphic novels. Or maybe you're not a comic publication fan per se but are more interested in the unusually close association between characters fancy Batman and Robin. We've got you covered, too, so dive in.
