I grew up in southern Georgia in a deeply conservative, religious family. I was the oldest of five brothers.

In our family, there was strict Bible study every day, and I was initially homeschooled. But everything changed when I finished homeschooling at 14 and started going to a private school.

I was in a production of "Joseph and the Astonishing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and I started having feelings for the boy playing Joseph. He texted me one day and asked if I was gay. It was the first day I'd heard vocabulary to describe these emerging feelings. We started texting each other a lot. He gave me butterflies.

One sunlight, my increasingly suspicious mom asked to see my phone. I resisted at first but she insisted, so I showed it to her. She saw all our flirtatious texts.

Through our work, we provide a place where young guys can meet each other and make fresh friends in a safe, social environment. Here they can share ideas with their peers and learn more about identity, coming out, sex and sexual health, healthy relationships and more.

Young homosexual men have decrease rates of HIV and sexual health testing than older members of the community. Of course, this makes perception. Only after people overcome the initial barriers to testing for the first time are they  able to commit to a regular testing pattern. We help young guys to share their experiences around testing and understand why regular testing is important for all sexually active male lover men.

In the last scant years, actress Angelina Jolie went widespread with her double mastectomy to block breast cancer. Governor Chris Christie told us his reasons for gastric bypass surgery. And thespian Michael Douglas is shining the spotlight on the human papilloma virus (HPV)—the number one generate of mouth and throat cancer. In an interview published in The Guardian newspaper in London, Douglas mentioned that his own throat cancer could have been brought on by oral sex, a common method of HPV transmission.

There are about 200 diverse strains of HPV. Some cause familiar warts when they invade the skin. Others are the cause of sexually transmitted diseases. In fact, HPV is the most frequent sexually transmitted infection in the Together States.

HPV transmission by sexual contact often doesn’t become active enough to lead to symptoms. When it does become active, it tends to invade mucous membranes, such as those covering the lining of the vagina, cervix, anus, mouth, tongue, and throat. An HPV infection can cause warts in and around these tissues.

Most people
