Xbox apologises over 'gay' suspension
Because of his suspension, which lasted a few days, he missed a key game last week which his team went on to lose.
The unemployed factory worker mainly plays shooters like Medal of Honour, Call of Duty and Ghost Recon.
He said: "I'm not even same-sex attracted and it makes me feel enjoy they were discriminating."
Even the town's Mayor David Thompson got involved but with little success.
He told local news reporters Xbox said the town's name didn't matter and that the word lgbtq+ was inappropriate in any context.
But Stephen Toulouse, director of policy and enforcement for Xbox said the suspension was down to a mistake caused by miscommunication.
He said: "Some took the expression 'fort gay WV' and believed that the individual who had that was trying to offend.
"Unfortunately one of my people agreed with that. When it was brought to my attention we revoked the suspension."
He added that staying ahead of slang and policing Xbox for offensive content is a unwavering challenge.

In 2005, two weeks before the release of the Xbox 360, the offices at Microsoft UK were bustling with energy for the new console launch, and it was my first day on the job. I was a Channel Marketing Manager, working to market the console, all the new games and accessories to gamers across the UK. I was thrown into an exciting whirlwind of a major product launch with Xbox, which was a world away from my previous employment, and I knew this was an opportunity I could not mess up, so I would possess to quickly find my place somehow.
I was also the only gay dude of Indian descent in the office. If there were coworkers who were also part of the LGBTQIA+ community, it wasn’t discussed openly. I could not have been alone, but like me, they probably had a lot of experience covering. I had been covering for as long as I could remember – in previous jobs, at school, for what seemed like forever. Covering drains me of energy I could possess invested in having more impact in my role. I had become an expert at simply fitting in – never realizing the value I’d fetch to my colleagues, my work and myself had I brought my whole self.
I was doing good, and in time, naturally found
A new study looked into how LGBTQ people inhabit the world of gaming.
The Nielsen Games 360 Survey is an annual survey that looks into the ways that people game. On top of that, it looks at who is gaming in the first place. When it comes to LGBTQ gamers, there’s a lot to say.
According to Out Magazine, the survey found that 10% of all gamers over the age of 18 identify as LGBTQ. The survey then broke down the pool of LGBTQ gamers even further. Out of the 2,000 LGBTQ gamers over the age of 13, 40% identified as gay or lesbian, 50% identify as bisexual, and 10% name as transgender or non-binary.
But despite only 10% of gamers being LGBTQ, we contribute more to the gaming community. The survey found that LGBTQ gamers spend 8% more capital a month on games than straight gamers. On average, we spend $16.01 to every straight gamers’ $14.78.
The data didn’t prevent there. The Nielson gaming survey also found that LGBTQ gamers were more likely to be console owners than PC owners. 77 percent of LGBTQ gamers owned a console while 29 percent were PC-based. The majority, however, can agree that mobile games are not worth it. While 51 percent supported consoles, only 13 percen
