Ed Sheeran thought he was "gay for a bit" during his childhood.
The 30-year-old pop star has revealed he used to question his sexuality because he loved musicals and songs by Britney Spears as a child.
He shared: "I own a definite feminine side, to the point that when I was a kid I reflection I was queer for a bit.
"I definitely have a big feminine side. I love musical theatre, I admire pop music, I love Britney Spears.
"My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football."
The Perfect hitmaker - who is an Ipswich Town fan - actually prefers women's football to the men's game.
And Ed revealed that he converted to the women's game after his daughter, Lyra, was born in August last year.
He told the Man Dude Man podcast: "I watched it and I was appreciate , 'I don't understand why I monitor male football, this is much better'.
"I am not a hugely masculine person anyway. I am not a wagon guy. I appreciate a nice automobile, but I'm not a car guy."

It's why singer Ed Sheeran's recent comments about his childhood interests rang true.
"I have a definite feminine side to the gesture where like when I was a kid, I thought I was gay," Sheeran said on Dutch podcast "Man Man Man." He added that his "feminine side" includes loving musical theater, pop music and Britney Spears.

Ed Sheeran is talking about his perspectives on masculinity and gender.
During a modern interview with the Dutch podcast Man Man Man, Ed revealed that he never felt “hugely masculine” as a kid and consideration he might possibly be gay.
“I definitely have a giant feminine side,” he shared. “I passion musical theater, I love pop tune, I love Britney Spears. My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football.”
Ed added, “When I was a kid, I thought I was gay for a bit.”
The “Bad Habits” singer revealed that he also prefers watching the women’s leagues in sports. “I watched it and I was like, ‘I don’t know why I watch male football; this is much better.’”
As for his vehicles, Ed said he doesn’t wish to be in the world’s fanciest car: “I am not a car guy. I like a friendly car, but I’m not a ride guy.”
He added, “But then, my wife is super pro-women and femininity. And so, as soon as we started dating, my animation shifted to that.”
The "Shape of You" singer also said, “She plays in a female hockey team. We hook out with all the team. It’s very much women empowerment.”
